TITLE: THE TRUE NATURE OF A CHRISTIAN (PART 8)

KEY TEXT: JOHN 15:12 KJV, “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.”

The nature of Christ is a giving nature. When Christ was on earth, He had compassion on a multitude because they were with Him for three days without eating anything. He knew they would faint if He sent them all home that way, so He fed them. He did not tell them, “Be ye filled and go home.” MATTHEW 15:32 KJV

KEY TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 11:31 KJV, “For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.”

Charity begins at home. How is your relationship with your relatives? Before you preach to others outside, how is your lifestyle at home? The Bible says to judge yourself so that you will not be judged. Are you living the life of Christ? How kind is your heart? Is it a stony heart? You are not born again if your heart is as hard as a rock. EPHESIANS 4:32 KJV

A lot of Christians do not care for people, even when they know that others are dying. They might see a beggar begging for alms but would walk right past them, even when they have the means to help them. And it is unfortunate that their hearts and conscience are unaffected by this. PSALM 41:1 KJV

TITLE: THE TRUE NATURE OF A CHRISTIAN (PART 6)

KEY TEXT: MATTHEW 5:16 KJV, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

People should see you as a Christian and not be scared or have you add to their problems. Everybody who is around you should feel joy and peace. Nobody comes to Christ and remains the same. Every true child of God is married to Jesus, and Jesus takes care of them all. How are you taking care of the people in your life? PHILIPPIANS 2:4 KJV

I love to preach using examples. I am not boasting, but I cannot remember a time when my wife and I have been angry with each other for so long. If I cannot make sure that my wife is happy and well taken care of, then I am not fit to be a man of God or tell others to be born again. 1 TIMOTHY 4:12b KJV

TITLE: THE TRUE NATURE OF A CHRISTIAN (PART 5)

KEY TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:27 KJV, “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

When sin is found in a Christian’s life, it makes him or her a rebel, and God cannot answer the prayers of rebels. The Bible says, “Give not that which is holy to the dogs.” Sin makes a person a dog, and it does not take a major sin to make someone a dog either. Little sins have the same effect as major sins. Sin is sin, no matter its magnitude. MATTHEW 7:6 KJV

When you free yourself from sin, Jesus Christ will reside in you. Christ is too holy to dwell where there is sin. At times, a husband and wife can stay in the same house and not talk to each other for days. I wonder what kind of marriage that is. Can God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit do that? No. It is not possible. 1 JOHN 5:7 KJV

KEY TEXT: ROMANS 8:14 KJV: "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."

Many Christians today are not accepting the leadership of Jesus Christ, yet they claim to be Christians. True Christians receive commands from Jesus Christ. A lot of Christians harbor sin in their hearts. You cannot be a Christian and retain sin in your heart. It is impossible to cast out demons with a dirty heart; that demon will cast you out instead. It is either the demon casts you out or they go straight to your loved ones. EPHESIANS 4:31-32 KJV

TITLE: THE TRUE NATURE OF A CHRISTIAN (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 6:17 KJV, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.”

Christians are supposed to be different from the people of the world and must have a quiet and gentle spirit. There is also a difference between Christian homes and worldly homes; Christian marriages and non-Christian marriages. This is why we see a lot of divorce happening with non-Christians, because there is no patience and they do not know how to settle things in the spirit realm. 1 PETER 2:9-10 KJV

Christians must always settle things in the spirit before settling things in the flesh. Christ said that whatever He hears His Father say or sees Him do, He says and does the same thing. What about you? Before you take any action, do you weigh it in the spirit with God? Whenever someone does anything to you, do you ask yourself what would Christ do if He were in your situation? We should always do what we see Christ doing. ROMANS 8:8 KJV

TITLE: THE TRUE NATURE OF A CHRISTIAN (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: JAMES 1:19-20 KJV: "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God."

According to the key text, a person’s anger would always make him or her make mistakes. Anger will never allow you to do the right thing, so it is never wise to act on things while angry. When the people caught the woman in adultery in John 8:3-11, the Bible said that Christ was drawing on the ground. After drawing, Jesus stood up and said, “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” JOHN 8:7 KJV

If Jesus was angry just like the people, He would have made a mistake. A true Christian would think and reason very well before acting. Always weigh what a person does to you, the action you plan to take, and the aftermath of the action you plan to take. Balance these three and consider what you will do next. PROVERBS 14:29 KJV

TITLE: THE TRUE NATURE OF A CHRISTIAN

KEY TEXT: 1 PETER 1:14 KJV, “As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance.”

What kind of life should you live as a Christian that would make you to be who God said you should be? Before you know your true nature as a true Christian, you should know the nature of Christ. Being a Christian means to be Christlike; to live as Christ. It means that what Christ would not do, you should not do it; where Christ cannot go, you should not go; if Christ is holy, you must be holy. 1 PETER 1:15 KJV

The Bible says to be angry and sin not, not giving place to the devil. This is the nature of a Christian. No matter how angry a Christian is, his or her anger should not remain until the next day, no matter what anyone did to him or her. He or she does not plan evil against his or her offenders. Christ even died for the same people who killed Him. EPHESIANS 4:26-27 KJV

KEY TEXT: PSALM 27:3 KJV, “Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.”

King David never lost a battle a day in his life, and he was the greatest warrior that ever lived. Why? Because he was always bold of His God. He faced everything squarely because he always placed God first. God will always be at the front of every battle if only we put Him first in everything in our lives. PSALM 18:2 KJV

TITLE: HOW CONFIDENT ARE YOU IN CHRIST? (PART 5)

KEY TEXT: PROVERBS 3:5 KJV, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

The Lord is telling someone to move forward and not stay in the spot of hopelessness and confusion. Whenever you are afraid, everything about you becomes stagnated. As long as you know that the Lord is your helper, nobody, not even demons, can do anything to you. Be bold to say that God is your helper; be proud of God, and He will never let you down. 1 JOHN 4:18 KJV

In all your ways, acknowledge God, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:6). Do not do anything when the Lord is not there for you. When God is not around, let things remain the way they are. Moses said that if the Lord did not go with him, then he would not go. What God did not start with you, He will not end it with you. God can only end what He started. EXODUS 33:15 KJV
