TITLE: THE TRUE NATURE OF A CHRISTIAN

KEY TEXT: 1 PETER 1:14 KJV, “As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance.”

What kind of life should you live as a Christian that would make you to be who God said you should be? Before you know your true nature as a true Christian, you should know the nature of Christ. Being a Christian means to be Christlike; to live as Christ. It means that what Christ would not do, you should not do it; where Christ cannot go, you should not go; if Christ is holy, you must be holy. 1 PETER 1:15 KJV

The Bible says to be angry and sin not, not giving place to the devil. This is the nature of a Christian. No matter how angry a Christian is, his or her anger should not remain until the next day, no matter what anyone did to him or her. He or she does not plan evil against his or her offenders. Christ even died for the same people who killed Him. EPHESIANS 4:26-27 KJV

When the sun goes down on one’s wrath, it gives occasion for one to start planning evil against his or her offender. We should not give place to the devil in our hearts. The devil does not have a place to reside in the life and heart of a true Christian; there is no sin to be found in his or her life, because sin is not the nature of a true child of God. 1 JOHN 5:18 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, have mercy on me for professing to be a Christian but having the mind of an unbeliever. I repent and ask for the mind of Christ, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: ”Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy” (1 PETER 1:16 KJV).
