TITLE: NEW YEAR, GREATER RESPONSIBILITY

KEY TEXT: 1 Corinthians 13:11 KJV, “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” 

Another year has come and another responsibility has been packaged for you. The Lord has not allowed you to come into this year for nothing. You are here for a reason and a responsibility. When I was in 2022, I reasoned as somebody in 2022, but now that I am in 2023, my thinking is changing. The same eye that the Lord used to look at you last year is not the same this year because you have now grown. 1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV

The Lord has given you life and another opportunity. Heaven and hell are about to watch you again. As a child of God, a platform is set for you to see how you are going to dance this year and how you are going to perform your responsibility. Do not be an abuser of God’s grace. Do not give Satan an occasion to laugh at Jesus Christ this year. The Lord has not crossed you over to leave you, but to watch you doing what you have crossed over for. Your reasoning for last year must therefore change. Luke 12:48 KJV

TITLE: WORRY AND ANXIETY NEVER SUPPLY OUR NEEDS (PART 5)

KEY TEXT: PSALM 55:22 KJV, “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”

The Bible says not to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. It also says that each day has its own troubles. Knowing this, let us take each day at a time with the help of the Holy Spirit. As far as God is able to supply our daily bread and keep us from temptation, our lives are settled. MATTHEW 6:11 and 13 KJV

Our God is the God of let-there-be, and He never grumbles. When God was creating the earth in Genesis 1, He kept using the word “Let”. When God saw that there was darkness on the earth, He did not grumble. Instead, He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Beloved, whenever you are going through anything, always be positive and say, “Let there be light.” GENESIS 1:2-3 KJV

KEY TEXT: 1 THESSALONIANS 5:16 KJV, “Rejoice evermore.”

Did you know that worry, anxiety, complaining, and grumbling are the thieves of joy and happiness? It is nearly impossible to have the joy of the Lord when one or all four of these elements are in a believer’s life. The Bible says to rejoice always and give thanks. A person cannot give thanks to God when harboring any of these. This could make one an enemy of God. 1 THESSALONIANS 5:18 KJV 

The next thing that is taken from someone is peace. Without peace, there is torment. The devil can never offer anyone peace. Jesus is the Prince of Peace, but how can one expect Jesus (the Prince of Peace) to dwell in him or her when worry, anxiety, complaining, and grumbling have already made his or her heart their home? PSALM 119:165 KJV

Whenever we worry, we are indirectly telling God that He is not as powerful as He says He is. Worry can make you doubt God and His supremacy. It can make you forget the great things He has done for you before. This does not give glory to God but satan. ROMANS 15:13 KJV

We should trust God in everything, because He knows all our needs. He even knows what you are going to tell Him before you pray about it. God programs days when He will give us what we are looking for, and they come like the rain. We should ask God to show us those days and help us know His plans for our lives. MATTHEW 6:33 KJV

KEY TEXT: MATTHEW 6:25 KJV, “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?”

Worry and anxiety never give us what we are looking for. All they do is add to our problems. We are encouraged not to worry about things, because the Bible says that the Lord is in charge. We are told not to take thought for our lives, because the Lord is able to supply all our needs. If God can take care of the birds, what about us who were made in His image? MATTHEW 6:26 KJV

Beloved, how much can worrying solve your problems? It could even give you sickness on top of all the problems you have. Worrying can never help you. What you should do is ask God for directions when going through something. If God can supply the needs of mother nature, He can definitely help you with whatever problem you may have. MATTHEW 6:27 KJV

 KEY TEXT: JOHN 12:25 KJV: “He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.”

 Who is that person telling you that what God and His Word are saying is not the truth? You are believing the lies of the devil and obeying people, because you still love yourself and the perishable materials of this world. I tell you, the hardship that you do not want to experience will catch up with you soon. In Esther 4:11, Esther told Mordecai that she had not been called to see the king for a month, and anyone who was not called that came to see him would be put to death. ESTHER 4:11 KJV

 Thank God that Esther listened to Mordecai. She made the decision to perish in order to save her people. After fasting for three days, she appeared before the king and was able to save herself and the Jews from Haman’s wrath. Are you refusing to do the right thing because you fear people or you are afraid of losing certain privileges? The consequences will be severe if you do not stop fearing man and start fearing God. PROVERBS 29:25 KJV

True children of God do not bow down to evil. A righteous person who bows down to evil is like a muddy spring or dirty well. The decree that was passed against the Jews did not make Mordecai bow. Instead, he tore his clothes, put on a sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the city crying bitterly, trying to draw the attention of the queen to the looming doom that was ahead of his people. ESTHER 4:1 KJV

This world is about to end, and not many are ready to face eternity. The devil is working hard to make sure everybody goes to hell. Just as the king told Haman to do whatever he likes to the Jews, Satan is also telling his agents to deal with the people who are under his evil will, chasing after miracles and earthly materials. ESTHER 3:11 KJV

When king Ahasuerus sealed the written agreement of Haman against the Jews, Mordecai heard about it and was sensitive to it, just as some men of God are sensitive to the devil’s plans today. But it is unfortunate that not many men of God are sensitive (or aware) of what is happening these days. Many men of God and their congregations are by the gates of hell and are unaware of it. EPHESIANS 6:11 KJV

Christ was a praying man while He was on earth. And when Christ was on earth, the devil wanted to make sure that He did not return to Heaven. He tried by all means to make sure that Christ failed in His mission. But glory be to God, because of the power in prayer and fasting, Jesus never surrendered. MATTHEW 4 KJV

As a child of God, you must be ready to avoid certain things. It may be well with you and you might be comfortable now, but some people are comfortable while sitting on top of fire. Some people are in hell unknown to them. I tell you, a person’s name can be in Heaven and hell at the same time. As the Lord is waiting for you in Heaven, so is satan also waiting for you in hell, but where you will end up depends on you. HEBREWS 9:27 KJV
