TITLE: LOVE LIKE CHRIST (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: 1 John 4:7 KJV: “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.”

LOVE AT IT’S CORE: To love does not mean to agree with someone’s sin. Love is telling them the truth, even if it hurts their feelings. Do to others as you would have them do to you. The Bible exhorts that we should not just love in words but in truth and in deeds. Look into yourself and see if you have that genuine love of God. The Bible says to love each other deeply because love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

LOVE ALL: Before you gossip about that brother, look at him as your very own brother or sister. Would you gossip about them? Can you gossip about your mother, father, brother, or sister? Beloved, let us demonstrate and display the perfect love of Christ. In your workplace, what do they know you as? Do they know you as a loving person, or do they see you as something else? Let others see the character of Jesus in you. Matthew 22:35-40

KEY TEXT: Ephesians 5:2 KJV: “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”

NECESSITY OF LOVE: Love is a necessity in our vision to be like Christ. Love is an attribute we are expected to portray to our fellow brethren. We sometimes overlook topics like this, but it is because of the love of Christ that we stand here. He loved us so much that He died the death we should have died. The price and penalty for sin hanging over us was paid by Christ’s selfless love. John 15:13

JESUS AS THE MODEL OF INTEGRITY: Jesus Christ is the ultimate example of integrity. Hebrews 4:15 states, "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Jesus’ life exemplifies perfect integrity. Anyone who professes to be born again and following Jesus Christ should have the mind and nature of Christ also. It's written: “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” 1 JOHN 2:6

KET TEXT: Luke 16:10 KJV: “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”

INTEGRITY IN BUSINESS: Fairness and honesty in business reflect integrity. Many Christians who are doing business easily forget who they are because of their quest for excessive gain. Leviticus 19:36 commands, "Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt." This directive ensures ethical conduct in trade and commerce. Never allow the riches of this world make you forget your identity in Christ. 1 TIMOTHY 6:5-9

INTEGRITY IN SPEECH: Integrity must be reflected in our speech. Ephesians 4:25 advises, "Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another." Honest communication is a hallmark of integrity. Be honest in all your communication, your words are who you are; they could either draw people to Christ or push them away. MATTHEW 5:37

Job's steadfastness in the face of trials was a testament to his unwavering integrity. HEBREWS 10:36

INTEGRITY AS A SHIELD: Integrity serves as a protective shield. In Psalm 25:21, David prayed, "Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee." This verse highlights that integrity preserves and protects those who uphold it. Integrity was the major factor that made God so much trust Job to the point He gave Satan permission to afflict him knowing he wouldn't betray his integrity. Luke 16:16

TITLE: BEWARE OF ENVY (PART 4)

KEY TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 4:11 KJV: “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”

Jesus Himself taught against envy, and the comparison of oneself to others. In the parable of the laborers in the vineyard (Matthew 20:1-16), those who worked all day envied those who worked only a short time but received the same wage. In Matthew 20:15, the landowner asked, "Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?" This parable challenges the fairness of God’s grace and the human tendency to envy others’ blessings. HEBREWS 13:6

TITLE: BEWARE OF ENVY (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: 1 Corinthians 3:3 KJV: “For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?”

Proverbs 27:4 provides a stark observation: "Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?" This proverb suggests that envy is even more dangerous and destructive than wrath and anger, making it a formidable force that can be difficult to withstand. JAMES 3:14 

To combat envy, Christians are called to love and support one another genuinely. In 1 Corinthians 13:4, Paul describes the nature of true love: "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up." Love, in its purest form, does not envy, but rather rejoices in the success and well-being of others. PROVERBS 27:4
