TITLE: GOD'S UNCHANGING DEMAND (PART 4)

KEY TEXT: Joshua 24:14 KJV: “Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.”

God is demanding that His children go back to the word. It is the everlasting demand of God. You are making Him angry by saying, "My G.O. says". He wants to start hearing, "Thus says the Lord"; the word, “It is written”. The only word that cannot fail is the written word of God. The Lord demands total dependence. He wants His children to totally depend on Him. Matthew 4:7

Let God be our light. But today, the church has gained independence from God (the way, the truth and the life). The church is no longer dependent on God again. They are now being controlled by so-called men of God. The men of God today have succeeded in pulling the church of God from God. Men are now the ones controlling the church of God, yet we expect God to be happy. A man died 2,000 years ago for humanity. And since that time till now, he has not stopped crying for the same humanity. Hebrews 4:14

Do you expect Him to have mercy upon you if you die in your iniquity? It is a lie. Let us embrace mercy now because after death, it will not be available. The Bible tells us in Psalm 123:2, “Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.” But today, we can't wait for God anymore.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, empower me to honor and defend your Word rather than defend men’s words, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Deuteronomy 6:13 KJV: “Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.”
