SATURDAY 20 APRIL 2024

TITLE: HOW DEDICATED ARE YOU TO GOD?

KEY TEXT: 1 Peter 5:6 KJV: “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.”

Dedication to God begins with recognizing His sovereignty and giving Him our utmost reverence. As Psalm 95:6 says, "O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker." It is essential to approach God with humility and awe, acknowledging His authority over our lives. Psalm 32:8

Our dedication to God involves committing our hearts and minds to His ways. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not to lean on our own understanding, but to acknowledge Him in all our ways, and He will direct our paths. Revelation 14:12

FRIDAY 19 APRIL 2024

TITLE: SET GOD AS YOUR UTMOST PRIORITY

KEY TEXT: 2 Corinthians 5:15 KJV: “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

PRIORITY DEFINED: A priority is something that is given special attention or takes precedence, being more important than other things. In the world, one can prioritize family, work, or themselves. However, those who are called of God and led by the Spirit have the most important priority, which is the highest priority of pleasing Jesus. To some, serving God is a burden and an inconvenience. But for us, the children of light, to serve God is joyful and a privilege. Let us put God first, not last, not in the middle, but first. Matthew 6:33

JESUS, OUR EXAMPLE: Jesus is our example. He always had the Father as His first priority, making His priorities match the Father's priorities. We are called to align our utmost priority with that of God's. This is the normal Christian life, making Jesus our priority in everything, not living for self but for Jesus, not seeking to please self but Jesus. There are many things that seek a believer's attention in this world: jobs, children, hobbies, spouse, etc. But be careful not to let them steal the attention we are supposed to render to God. 2 Corinthians 5:15

TITLE: REGENERATED (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: Matthew 13:15 KJV: "For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."

As Mark 4:12 says, "Otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!" Only when one is able to see will he understand, and only when one understands will he be able to turn, that is, be "converted" (Matthew 13:15, KJV). If it is necessary to "see" before one has faith, and if the ability to "see" is only possible after regeneration (John 3:3), then naturally regeneration comes before faith.

To review, God has chosen a number of individuals to receive salvation. Christ came to this earth and paid the price of sin for these chosen ones. Each of the elect is summoned to believe the gospel at specific times appointed by God. However, since the elect are born sinners, there is present within them a strong disposition toward evil, which renders them unable and unwilling to respond. Therefore, God regenerates the elect sinners as he summons them, and places in each of them a new nature that is disposed toward God and righteousness. Thus regeneration is a MONERGISTIC work – it is a work of God that produces its effects without any cooperation from the one being saved

TITLE: REGENERATED (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: John 3:3 - "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

The reason some Christians think that regeneration occurs by faith is because they have confused regeneration with "salvation" in general, and with "justification" in particular. When the word "salvation" is applied to the sinner, it is a general term that implies a number of things, such as the items discussed in this chapter. In justification, God confers upon the elect the righteousness merited by Christ. The Bible teaches that we are justified by faith, and not that we are regenerated by faith. Confusion results when one considers justification and regeneration as both, referring to "salvation" in the same sense. EZEKIEL 36:26

TITLE: REGENERATED (PART 1)

KEY TEXT: Colossians 1.21 KJV: “And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled.”

The sinful nature of man is the mind's strong disposition toward evil (Romans 8:5-7). Regeneration is a work of God, in which He changes this evil disposition into one that delights in the laws and precepts of God. This results in what amounts to a spiritual resurrection. Ezekiel 11:19-20, 36:26-27

Regeneration is a drastic and permanent transformation at the deepest level of one's personality and intellect, which we may call a RADICAL RECONSTRUCTION to God, away from the abominable objects and principles that was once served. This change in his first principle of thought and conduct, generates a rippling effect that transforms the entire spectrum of his worldview and lifestyle

TITLE: CONSEQUENCES OF PRIDEFUL ATTITUDE

KEY TEXT: Isaiah 23:9 KJV: “The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.”

It's often said that anything that has advantages equally has disadvantages, but I have concluded that pride has no positive side. The end of any prideful conduct is always shame and humiliation. The following are some endpoints of prideful conduct:

1. ISOLATION: Pride can lead to a sense of superiority, causing individuals to distance themselves from those they perceive as inferior.

2. CONFLICT: Pride often fuels disagreements and conflicts, as individuals may refuse to backdown or compromise due to their inflated sense of self-importance. PHILIPPIANS 2:3

TITLE: PRIDE, A CRUEL ENEMY OF MAN (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: Matthew 7:12 KJV: “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”

In Ecclesiastes 7:8, we find solace in the acknowledgment that, "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit." This scripture reminds us that patience and humility yield greater rewards than the fleeting satisfaction of pride that will definitely lead to humiliation and shame at the end if not repented of. TITLE: PRIDE, A CRUEL ENEMY OF MAN (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: Isaiah 13:11 KJV: “And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.”

Proverbs 11:2 declares, "When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom." This verse highlights the correlation between pride and shame, contrasting it with the wisdom found in humility. It serves as a reminder that true wisdom flourishes in the soil of humility, not in the barren wasteland of pride. Proverbs 16:5

TITLE: PRIDE, A CRUEL ENEMY OF MAN (PART 1)

KEY TEXT: Proverbs 29:23 KJV: “A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.”

Pride, often depicted as a formidable foe in both ancient texts and contemporary wisdom, is a theme deeply ingrained in the Word of God. In Proverbs 16:18, it is written, "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." This verse warns us of the perilous path pride can lead us down, emphasizing the inevitable downfall awaiting those who allow arrogance to cloud their judgment. Galatians 6:3

TITLE: YOU ARE MANDATED TO EVANGELIZE (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: Luke 19:10 KJV: "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Evangelism is not merely a duty but a privilege for believers to participate in God's redemptive plan for humanity. Romans 1:16 declares, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." This passage reaffirms the transformative power of the gospel and encourages believers to boldly proclaim it to all, regardless of cultural or social distinctions. 1 TIMOTHY 2:4-6
