TITLE: LOVE LIKE CHRIST (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: 1 John 4:7 KJV: “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.”

LOVE AT IT’S CORE: To love does not mean to agree with someone’s sin. Love is telling them the truth, even if it hurts their feelings. Do to others as you would have them do to you. The Bible exhorts that we should not just love in words but in truth and in deeds. Look into yourself and see if you have that genuine love of God. The Bible says to love each other deeply because love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

LOVE ALL: Before you gossip about that brother, look at him as your very own brother or sister. Would you gossip about them? Can you gossip about your mother, father, brother, or sister? Beloved, let us demonstrate and display the perfect love of Christ. In your workplace, what do they know you as? Do they know you as a loving person, or do they see you as something else? Let others see the character of Jesus in you. Matthew 22:35-40

LOVE SAVES: When things are going well, let's love. When things are not going well, let's still love. We can use love to bring an unbeliever to God. So, let us have love like the Good Samaritan. The Good Samaritan saw the destitute and took care of him. We also need to display the practical side of Christian love. Don’t just love in words but in truth and in deeds. Not by mouth or by merely wishing someone is okay but by the works of love. Let us not ignore but bear each other’s burdens. Luke 10:30-37

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, transform any heart of stone in me to the heart of flesh to love and cherish those who you bring my way with the perfect love of Christ, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Ephesians 5:2 KJV: “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”
