Many managing directors and company holders, even government officials, would let go of their staff if found guilty of mismanagement of funds or abuse of their position. No company would applaud anyone who mismanages its hard-earned company money. The management would do everything possible to keep the name of the company or firm intact, by doing away with anyone who mismanages funds allocated to him or her for the supposed growth of the company. Amos 5:14 KJV

If we look carefully with the eyes of the Holy Spirit, we would understand what the Scripture in our key text is talking about. It makes us to understand the reason most churches today have decided to surrender to the devil. A majority of today's ministers of the gospel have willingly submitted to the world and its ruler the devil, in order to avoid the suffering that comes through holiness. No one living a holy life will be free from persecution. 2 Corinthians 4:8-12 KJV

We have been forewarned by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, that only a few will be saved in our generation. He foretold the events that would occur before the rapture. In Matthew 24, it talks about nations rising against nations, earthquakes happening in many places, fake prophets, and pastors performing lying signs and wonders to deceive humanity. All these have been happening; however, humanity is not taking heed to the signs happening all over the world. Mark 13:7-8 KJV

The spirit of envy is a spirit every true believer should take time out to pray against. Envy has sent so many people into an early grave. This four-letter word "envy" has sent a lot of souls into hellfire. There's no place this spirit cannot operate. It has torn many families apart, destroyed many churches, and turned best friends into enemies. Cain and Abel were once happy siblings who did things in common with joy and love until Cain opened his heart to the spirit of envy. Genesis 4:3-10 KJV

God demands that anyone doing His work should be clean and remain clean. It's totally non-negotiable for those who choose to walk with God and to work for Him to keep themselves away from sin. Those walking with God are supposed to have the mindset of holiness. For it's written: "But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." 1 Peter 1:15-16 KJV

The reason many people are not willing to give their lives to Jesus Christ is because they are trying to preserve what the devil has given them. They fear they would be confined to holiness in so many things. They know that the things that use to give them pleasure would be withdrawn from them. They also know that there is the probability of worldly friends going away, and life would become restricted in so many ways. John 12:25 KJV

Beloved, how could you say, "I reject hellfire in Jesus' mighty name," while living in the far country of sin and iniquity? You don't bind sin or hell, you run far away from them.
