TITLE: SURRENDER ALL (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: MATTHEW 16:25 KJV: "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it."

GIVE IT ALL: Surrender is literally giving up all control. It is telling God that we are not big enough to deal with our worries, and He must take over. When we finally let go of all our worries, we give God room to wield His mighty arm in our lives. When our hands are weak and tired, God’s hands are strong and powerful. The enemy seeks every new day to cloud our minds with worries, doubts, and fears. The devil wants that there should be no room left for God in our lives. Surrendering to God becomes a lifestyle of daily giving-it-all to Him. Psalm 89:13

WARNING FAILING TO SURRENDER: It is worth pondering: Is there any downside to not surrendering? In Matthew 16:25, we see a clear warning for failing to surrender to Christ: "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it." Quite simply, anyone who seeks to save his life by pursuing their own interests and rejecting God’s gift of Jesus Christ will live a shallow, meaningless life devoid of Him and an eternity apart from Him. Matthew 16:25

CALL TO SURRENDER: Hell is full of “wealthy” people who never surrendered any portion of their lives—and especially not their souls—to God in Jesus Christ. That is why total surrender to God through faith in His Son is the most important decision a person can make. Will you surrender the self-will that hinders you from having a better relationship with Jesus Christ? Or will you evade capture by His Lordship, holding tight to earthly things that will eventually fade away at the expense of forfeiting all that God has for your soul? Matthew 16:26

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, help me surrender any part of me that is still holding on to self, sin, and the world completely, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Matthew 10:39 KJV: “He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.”
