TITLE: A LIFESTYLE VOID OF HYPOCRISY IS DEMANDED (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: Matthew 7:15 KJV: “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

The Psalms also address this issue, as seen in Psalm 55:21: "The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords." Here, the psalmist laments the deceitfulness of those who speak kindly but harbor malicious intentions, illustrating the destructive potential of hypocritical behavior.

Jesus' teachings in the sermon on the mount further highlight the importance of authenticity in spiritual practice. He warns, "Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 6:1 KJV). This admonition calls for sincerity in acts of charity and worship, cautioning against the desire for public recognition.

Moreover, the Apostle Paul addresses hypocrisy in his epistles, urging believers to live in harmony with their faith. He exhorts the Romans: "Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good" (Romans 12:9 KJV). This instruction promotes genuine love and moral integrity, rejecting the pretense of outward piety. LUKE 12:22

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, have mercy on me, in any way I have not been living a sincere life. I repent today and ask for the spirit of sincerity to take over my heart, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Titus 1:16 KJV: “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.”
