TITLE: COME TO CHRIST, THE PRINCE OF PEACE

KEY TEXT: John 14:27 KJV: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

PEACE FROM CHRIST: This title, “Prince of Peace,” presents Jesus as the only antidote to the peace we are searching for in the world—the antidote to the peace the world is looking for. His peace doesn’t only change our world around us, our environments, our lives, but especially provides peace for our minds—the inner peace within. Even when our circumstances are not peaceful, our hearts and minds can be filled with peace because of Jesus. We can enjoy peace like a river, peace that flows all around us. The world only offers temporary peace, focusing on circumstances, not lasting peace that quiets our souls. John 14:27

COST OF OUR PEACE: Our peace given to us was not free; someone had to pay for it, and that someone was Jesus Christ—the Prince of Peace. There is no other way to have peace with God, except through Jesus Christ. In Jesus, every fear of death and hell becomes eliminated and replaced with the gift of eternal life. This is why Jesus is called the Prince of Peace, because He alone was worthy, able, and justified enough to purchase for us peace with God. Colossians 1:20

ATTAINING THIS PEACE: Christ’s peace is given freely—no money upfront, no taxation—but freely we can obtain peace. He became our peace offering, and in Him, we are reconciled to God. Philippians 4:7 illustrates how Jesus' sacrifice brings both internal peace, reconciling us with God, and external peace, fostering unity among humanity. The peace that Jesus brings is comprehensive and touches every aspect of our lives. Are you in disarray, dejected, or rejected? Come to the Prince of Peace for lasting peace today. Matthew 11:28

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, may I experience the fullness of your peace, and remove from my life anything robbing me of the perfect peace that comes from you, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Romans 5:1 KJV: “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
