TITLE: BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: John 14:27 KJV: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Take one day at a time. Live each day that comes to the fullest because we don't know what the next day holds for us. Many of us have asked God foolish questions and charged God foolishly. But the Bible says be anxious for nothing. When the devil tempted Jesus to bow to him, He made the devil know that the temptations were not His pressing needs, nor was He seeking materialistic things, but a greater purpose. Matthew 4:9-10

You say you are born again but your state of reasoning is like those in the world. What makes you a child of God? I have seen people dying and leaving their houses, cars and possessions and none of those things were buried with them. That should awaken you to the vanities of life. But humanity forgets easily. Jeremiah 45:5 advises, “And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not." Luke 12:15

It is why Jesus asks in Matthew 8:36 what it would profit you if you gained the world but lose your soul. King Solomon tasted wealth and wisdom, but in all it was never enough as he went after strange women. So, keep seeking the Kingdom of God as a priority. Ecclesiastes 12:13

PRAYER: Almighty Father, open my eyes to see the vanities of this life and empower me to live for Your purpose and will, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Psalms 62:10 KJV: “Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.”
