TITLE: PRIDE, A CRUEL ENEMY OF MAN (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: Matthew 7:12 KJV: “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”

In Ecclesiastes 7:8, we find solace in the acknowledgment that, "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit." This scripture reminds us that patience and humility yield greater rewards than the fleeting satisfaction of pride that will definitely lead to humiliation and shame at the end if not repented of. PHILIPPIANS 2:3

Moreover, in 1 Peter 5:5, we are exhorted, "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble." This verse reinforces the importance of humility in our interactions with others, as it not only pleases God but also fosters unity and mutual respect. If family must be peaceful, the Church must be united as the true body of Christ. Pride, selfishness, and arrogance must be done away with, and every believer must put on humility. PHILIPPIANS 2: 1-11

In conclusion to this message, the word of God offers profound insights into the dangers of pride and the virtues of humility. It reminds us that pride leads to destruction and separation from God, while humility leads to wisdom, honor, and divine favor. Let us heed these timeless teachings, humbling ourselves before God and others, that we may walk in His grace and find true fulfillment in His ways. PROVERBS 16:5

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, grant me the grace to become as you are. I want to be humble, holy, and righteous as you are. Thank you, Lord, because I know you are able to preserve my soul for your kingdom, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION James 4:6 KJV: “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
