TITLE: BEING VIOLENT IN THE SPIRIT (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: Matthew 11:12 KJV: “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.”

A violent believer in the spirit has no room for complacency (noticing a wrong thing going on and doing nothing about it). They do not have one foot in Christ and the other out. They are not lukewarm. Only violent believers possess the Kingdom of God. The Bible did not say that they take it by negotiation. Believers take what belong to them by maintaining their beliefs. Revelation 3:15-16

The demonstration of the power of the Kingdom of our Saviour demands violence. That is why you are required to strive to enter, and there are many who will try to enter but will not be able. It takes holy anger to say that you will not miss Heaven, upon all the labour you have done. There is always a cross for us to carry. We should not allow our circumstances to cut it. If we are violent in the spirit, then we should not be lukewarm believers. Matthew 10:38

Jesus Christ does not want any lukewarm relationship with Him. He wants us to be hot and violent, no matter the circumstance. Esther was provoked in the spirit and put her life on the line when she was told of Haman's plot to wipe out the Jews. If we are not violent in the spirit, we cannot take what belongs to us. Violent prayers in holiness and righteousness means pouring our hearts out that He may pour Himself into our lives. We are telling God we cannot do without Him and that He should have His way. Esther 4:16

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, consume every lukewarmness in me preventing me from possessing Your Kingdom, and revive my heart by fire, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Jude 1:3 KJV: “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”
