TITLE: BEING VIOLENT IN THE SPIRIT (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: Acts 2:14 KJV: “But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words.”

As Peter addressed the congregation in boldness and violence in the Spirit, they were pricked in their hearts, asking what steps they should take next. Today, God is looking for those who will address the people in holy violence. Those who can stand, no matter how ugly the situation is; those who can challenge Satan and say that no matter how tough it may be or how long their expectation has tarried, they will continue to serve God. Acts 2:37

This is what Habakkuk declared. There may not be any increase in life all round, whether in the field, stores, or bank accounts, but that should not make you shift your position in God. In holy anger, address your situation, stating that it will not change your Christian values. If you are not violent in the spirit, then you cannot stand up to Satan to say, “Enough is enough!” When Jesus was fasting and faced temptation from the devil, He was violent enough to ward off the devil by the Word of God. Habakkuk 3:17

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did not allow the fiery situation they faced to pollute their relationship with the Father because Heaven was their focus. They could not compromise the Kingdom. It takes a child of God who is violent in the Spirit to declare that nothing can separate them from the love of God. Remember, there is no victory without conflict, and you cannot say that you are a winner without a battle. Romans 8:38-39

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, I receive the grace to be bold and violent in the spirit, enabling me to stand for You in every situation, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Matthew 4:10 KJV: “Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
