TITLE: DON'T MORTGAGE YOUR SALVATION

KEY TEXT: HEBREWS 9:27 KJV: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

We are living in a time where people think they can be slaves and masters at the same time. A generation where people want to serve and work for the devil and expect to enter into the Kingdom of God. A generation of people that sold their salvation for material gain and want to hold onto the blessings of God at the same time, forgetting that salvation and the blessings of God go together. When one is missing, the other would follow suit. Many children of God are not ready to serve God or obey Him, yet they are ready to enjoy God's blessings. They forgot it's written to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteous and all other things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

DON'T SELL YOUR BIRTHRIGHT: The birthright of every child of God is his/her salvation to inherit the Kingdom of God. Just as Esau sold his birthright for one morsel of meat, so many children of God have sold their birthrights to the devil. Anytime one commits sin deliberately, he/she is indirectly giving up his/her inheritance in Christ. Satan aimed at truncating the right of being the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world when he tempted Jesus Christ after His 40 days and 40 nights of fasting and prayer. That would have been the end of man's redemption if Jesus Christ had fallen to Satan's mischief. Matthew 4:1-11

DON'T SUBMIT YOUR SALVATION RIGHT TO SIN: Esau thought he could come back for his birthright after carelessly handing it to Jacob, his younger brother. The same way many children of God think they could willfully sell their souls and still end up in Heaven. Many young people want to enjoy the pleasure of iniquity since they are still young, come to God in their old age as if their lives are in their hands. Learn from Esau, when he would have inherited the blessing of a first born, he was rejected -“For he found no place of repentance, though he sought it with tears.” Beloved in Christ, repent of your sins now, tomorrow may be too late. Hebrews 12:17

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, have mercy on me and forgive me, in any way I have sold my salvation unknowingly. Please forgive me, Lord, and restore me back to yourself, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: MARK 8:36-37 KJV: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
