TITLE: BEWARE OF YOUR COUNSELOR

KEY TEXT: Psalm 1:1 KJV: “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”

There is no one on the earth who has no counselor. Every action one takes is as a result of the advice gotten from his/her counselor. There are inner counselors and outer counselors. The inner counselors are two spirits from two different kingdoms. One is from the Kingdom of Light (God), which is the Holy Spirit, while the other is from the kingdom of darkness (Satan). Whichever of these two spirits one decides to make his/her inner counselor, he or she would gladly agree to do anything without hesitation. Joshua 24:15 KJV 


YOU ARE SUBJECT TO YOUR COUNSELOR: Many people's lives are miserable because of a simple counsel from a counselor. Some people were counseled into smoking, drinking, stealing, prostitution, adultery, dubious businesses, looting government treasury, or making merchandise of people in the name of being a man or woman of god. Lots of people have committed suicide with the help from a counselor. One's counselor has the larger part of his/her heart. Who is your counselor? Proverbs 19:20 KJV


EITHER AN UNGODLY OR GODLY COUNSELOR: Many believers today are into the trap of their so-called men and women of god whom they call their counselors. Most men and women of god today are counselors without counsel from God. They use their crafty human wisdom to give counsel to their victims. Most believers are dwelling in iniquity because of their counselors. The only perfect Counselor is the Word of God through the Holy Spirit. You must run from ungodly counselors, or else you will live opposite your destiny. Give your life to Jesus Christ if you are not born again. 2 Timothy 3:16 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, let every counsel that I need to live my life to be able to fulfill your plans and purpose for me come from You, and please help me obey promptly, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise” (Proverbs 12:15 KJV).
