TITLE: THE NON-CONTROVERSIAL POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: ACTS 1:8 KJV, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Beloved in Christ, I counsel you this day that if the Holy Spirit, who is in charge of every work of God has not come upon you, please stay put and do not do anything that you cannot defend before the judgment seat. Do not do anything until you are certain you have received the Holy Spirit. It is amazing that believers could just do whatever they like without the endowment of the Holy Spirit. It was not so from the beginning of the Church. EPHESIANS 1:13 KJV

Before you started doing that work for God, did you earnestly desire the Holy Spirit in order to do it? If you read Luke 4:1-13, it says that the Holy Spirit led Jesus Christ into the wilderness. And after 40 days, He returned in the power of the Spirit. It means that the Holy Spirit is everything you and I need to effectively and productively do the work of God. ISAIAH 61:1-3 KJV

If Christ Himself needed the Holy Spirit to lead Him into the wilderness to fast and pray for 40 days and 40 nights in order to manifest the reason God sent Him on earth, what about us? We definitely need the Holy Spirit to succeed in the work given to us by God. JOHN 14:26 KJV 

PRAYER: I receive the grace to wait and pray earnestly for the Holy Spirit empowerment to enhance my effective work for and walk with God, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (Romans 8:26 KJV).
