TITLE: THE NON-CONTROVERSIAL POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: ROMANS 15:13 KJV, “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”

There are many functions of the Holy Spirit, and only the Holy Spirit can perform the functions of the things of the spirit. Jesus Christ who is God Himself needed the Holy Spirit for His body to work while He was on His earthly mission to redeem mankind. He also needed the Holy Spirit to resurrect after His death (Romans 8:11). The Holy Spirit needed to be in everything that Jesus Christ did from His birth unto His ascension. JOHN 1:33 KJV 

The power to do God’s work perfectly and in holiness is invested in the Holy Spirit. Before Jesus left the earth, He told His followers to stay in the Upper Room until they received the Holy Spirit. It is unfortunate that most churches today are empty because the power of the Holy Ghost is not present, unlike the days of the old Apostles and the early Church when the Holy Spirit was fully and always present amongst the brethren. ACTS 1:4-5 KJV

Most churches are full of sin, and the Holy Spirit cannot dwell or manifest in an atmosphere of sin and iniquity. Dear reader, has the Holy Spirit come upon you? Can you remember when that happened? It is a day that every true Christian should be able to remember. If the Holy Spirit has not come upon you, then whatever you think you are doing for the Lord is nothing but rebellion. ACTS 1:8 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, have mercy on me for doing your work with my own power. Please, endow me with the Holy Spirit and take self from me, as I surrender totally to the leading of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (ROMANS 8:14 KJV).
