TITLE: THE FAITHFULNESS OF GOD

KEY TEXT: JOSHUA 1:5 KJV: “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

God is a faithful God and a promise-keeper. He does not fail. He told Abraham that He would make him a father of many nations. After many years, people were mocking Abraham because they assumed God’s promises were not coming to pass. But God appeared to Abraham and said, “I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.” Genesis 17:1-4 KJV

The problem many Christians have is that they refuse to walk before God. To be faithful is to be reliable, worthy of trust, and consistent with reality. These are some of God’s attributes. It is written that God honors His Word more than His name, and neither is He the son of man that He should repent. Psalm 138:2 KJV, Numbers 23:19 KJV

God never changes, and nothing can make Him change. People change because they are human and have limits. People can only guarantee what they can do in the present, not in the future. No matter what happens, God is consistent with reality. I do not know what you are trusting God for, but hold on. Psalm 27:14 KJV

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, please give me the grace to trust you completely, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them” (Joshua 1:6 KJV).
