TITLE: DISCOURAGEMENT NOT AN OPTION 
 
KEY TEXT: Hebrews 10:36-37 KJV: “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.”
 
The primary reason most Christians easily give up on the race to heaven is because they have not made Heaven their main goal in their minds, and the love of God has no root in them. It is written: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Romans 8:35-36 KJV 
 
The only way a believer will not drop out of the race is to make a covenant with the love of God. The more God’s love is in one’s heart, the more steadfast he or she will become. This can only be done by having a personal encounter or relationship with God. Your salvation will not stand the test of time if you are a push-start Christian. A believer who always needs someone to push him or her before he or she does what is right for God will definitely fall out if a change is not made. Galatians 6:9 KJV 
 
Jesus Christ was not forced to die for you, so why would you be forced to serve Him? Many things have been set in motion to discourage you and I from following Jesus Christ, but we have the choice to think and remember how Jesus Christ refused to be discouraged when He came to die for us. Why not remember the glory that awaits you in eternal glory and bear whatever you are going through now that would surely have an end? Be strong and courageous, because your labour for Christ has a great reward. 1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV 
 
PRAYER: O Lord God, grant me the grace to overcome every force of discouragement in my journey to Heaven, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
 
REFLECTION: “Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded” (2 Chronicles 15:7 KJV).
