TITLE: THE OLD MAN IN NEW CLOTHES

KEY TEXT: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV).

Being a Christian is not like being part of a tribal group or normal association that one could identify himself or herself with for the purpose of making one happy. A majority of Christians do not even know what Jesus Christ came to do, let alone the reason He did so. Many go to church for identification; all they know is that they are members of a popular denomination and so-and-so bishop or prophet is their pride and father in the lord. Many only know or hear of Jesus Christ when their "papa" is using His name to prophesy on them to milk money out of their pockets. COLOSSIANS 3:1-3 KJV

STOP BEING A MOCKERY: Many so-called believers are a mockery to what Jesus Christ died for. If only the people could see and hear how demons are sitting around and mocking them in their so-called church. Do you expect the Holy Spirit to be in a church where pastors sleep with the women in the congregation, divorce their wives and remarry, or are not interested about the Kingdom of God but their selfish agendas? Beloved, you are a mockery to the Body of Christ if you are in such a place where the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is being blasphemed. ROMANS 8:1 KJV

DO NOT GO FROM CHURCH TO HELL: What would you tell your soul if you died as a Christian and ended up in hell? "If I had known…," will be your story in the end if you are the type who bears the name Christian while having the old nature. You are, of all people in the world, the most foolish if only what you will gain in this world is the reason you are in that marketplace you call a church. Have you ever considered sitting down to re-evaluate your life as the Christian you claim to be? Without holiness, do you think being a chorister, usher, or whatever position you have in a church will save you? Oh, no. You are only labouring in vain, even if your pastor is praising you in your iniquity. 1 CORINTHIANS 15:19 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, have mercy on me, in any way my claim of being born again has given the demons occasion to mock your name. Have mercy on me, and give me the grace to do away with the old nature in me, as I decide to make everything new and make holiness a lifestyle with the help of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Romans 12:2 KJV).
