TITLE: LET HEAVEN BE YOUR ULTIMATE DESIRE 

KEY TEXT: “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit” (1 Peter 3:18 KJV).

True believers are the ones who serve God because of their love for Him. Anything they do with or for God is centered on their true love for Him, knowing that this is what will guarantee them their greatest desire, which is to live with Christ in Heaven. Jesus Christ left His throne in Heaven, suffered shame and humiliation, died, and resurrected in order to save sinners and reconcile them to God. He saved them from the impending judgement of God. It is important for you to ask yourself these important questions: What am I doing to show I am truly in love with Christ and awaiting His coming? How much do I appreciate Him for paying my debt? How faithful am I in my walk with Him? Do I really have time for Him? 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 KJV

IS HEAVEN YOUR END GOAL?: Making it into Heaven should be the utmost desire of a true servant of God or a true believer. Apostle Paul said, “For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better” (Philippians 1:23 KJV). The question now is: What are you doing to fulfill the desire you have to make it in the rapture or be with the Lord after your time in this world? I believe you know Jesus Christ is a HOLY and JUST God. He will judge everyone righteously. He is no respecter of persons. It does not matter how people rate you. Human beings may rate you highly or you may be honoured anywhere you go, but know that it has nothing to do with God. You cannot assume that making it into Heaven is solely on having the hope that God is merciful, knowing fully well that billions of souls are languishing in hell and it is too late for them. You can only receive mercy while you are alive. Hebrews 9:27 KJV 

DO NOT DESPISE GOD’S WORD: Beloved in Christ, you must work out your salvation with fear and trembling daily if you must enter God’s rest. God is a God of sincere judgment. It is written: “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him” (Acts 10:34-35 KJV). According to this Scripture, it is noteworthy to conclude that indeed God is no respecter of persons. He will only accept those who tremble before His word, fear Him, and walk righteously. The question is: Do you love God so much and fear Him in all that you do? Do you have time for the things of God more than anything else in your life?  Beloved of God, you should understand that without holiness, no one can see the Lord. Check yourself daily if your holiness is enough to qualify you to see the Lord and have a place in Heaven. Repent of all your sins before it is too late. Romans 6:23 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, I am sorry for all the sins I have committed, trying to truncate my place in Heaven. Please have mercy on me and take away anything that would hinder me from making it into Heaven. Please, Lord, grant me the grace to be more focused in walking with you, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”(Mark 8:36 KJV).
