TITLE: YOUR CHOICE DETERMINES YOUR DESTINATION 

KEY TEXT: "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me" (Matthew 16:24 KJV).

I want to believe that the door of Heaven is open to anyone and everyone. The key text makes us understand that the ticket to Heaven is an open one, and it is written: "If anyone would follow me…" This is where a personal decision comes in. It is one thing to choose to follow Jesus Christ, but it is another thing to deny oneself of the sinful pleasures of this world. Jesus Christ will not force anyone to follow Him or those following Him to change from their old ways. One could choose to follow Jesus Christ as a worker of iniquity, doing the work of God in sin. It is all about choice. Matthew 7:21-23 KJV

DO NOT BE A PROFESSING BELIEVER: If making it into Heaven was simply by professing it through a simple confession or just believing in His name, no soul would have gone to hell. It is so saddening that though many study the Word of God, they still do not understand that hell has no respect of persons. Hell only closes its gates against those who chose to serve God in holiness. Working out their salvation in fear and trembling is the only way to enter the Kingdom of God. Many are hoping to enter God's kingdom with loads of sin, because their pastors have told them that Jesus Christ is too kind and merciful to send anyone to hell, irrespective of the sin committed. Hebrews 12:29 KJV 

YOUR CHOICE WILL STAND FOR OR AGAINST YOU: The choice you make now will be your endpoint. Choose to enter Heaven by living holy or go to hell by living in deliberate sin. Jesus Christ is too kind to send people to hell, as people rightly believe. Everyone decides where to spend eternity through his or her lifestyle. You cannot expect one who chose to die condemned to enter Heaven (John 3:18). Jesus Christ has done His part by paying the price on the cross of Calvary through His death for everyone's ticket to Heaven. It is up to you to accept the ticket and live in accordance with Heaven's principles. 1 Peter 1:15-17, John 3:16 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord, I choose to give my life to you and live according to the principles of Heaven. Please give me the grace to deny myself of anything that will deny me of my place in Heaven, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23  KJV).
