TITLE: WHO IS A WICKED PERSON? 

KEY TEXT: “I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked” (Psalm 26:5 KJV).

A lot of believers are very quick at seeing others as wicked. Many Christians forget that God does not see wickedness the way man sees it. To most children of God, wickedness is when someone is so heartless or when one can hurt others without showing pity. They see kidnappers, bandits, ritualists, and those who cast spells as wicked people. Truly, they are wicked people, but the Word of God does not only point to those categories of people as the wicked ones. Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV 

EVERY ACT OF DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD IS WICKEDNESS: When God is talking about the wicked, He is referring to anyone who is living contrary to His word. Anyone whose name is not written in the Book of Life is wicked: all liars, idolaters, envious people, backstabbers, haters of others, people who do not forgive, fornicators, crafty people, those who see evil and call it good, selfish people, polygamist, those married to other people’s spouses, and those committing little or big sins willfully are all wicked in God’s eyes. Ezekiel 18:27 KJV 

ARE YOU NOT A WICKED PERSON?: Wisdom demands that we look into ourselves properly before pointing fingers at others, because those who kill and those who envy others are heading to the same hell if they both fail to repent. The reason most believers are not repenting from their sins is because they see their sins as nothing compared to others. Beloved of Christ, you must learn to take every act of sin, regardless of its magnitude, as hell-bound. We must run from every kind of sin, because all sin leads to the same damnable destination. Do not take your sin as a normal thing, but avoid all forms of sin, so that you are not counted as one of the wicked to face the coming wrath of God. Isaiah 55:7 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, I repent of all my wickedness today. Grant me the grace to live a life void of sin and to meet you in glory, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him” (Ezekiel 18:20 KJV).
