TITLE: WATCH OVER YOUR SOUL (Part 1).

KEY TEXT: “But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal” (Matthew 6:20 KJV).

The Lord Jesus knew the dangers of acquiring wealth for oneself in this passing-away world. He understood the eternal dangers of what earthly wealth could do to the soul of man if not guided by the power of God to overcome the forces of pride and the lust of the world. He advised not to seek the things of this world but rather seek His Kingdom first, and all other things would be added to us. This means the things we so need shall be added to us. That is why He said we should not think of what we will eat, drink, wear, etc., because He shall provide for us according to our needs. The early apostles understood this concept and gave up themselves to the work of soul winning and that was how the Church of Christ grew daily. Matthew 6:31-33 KJV

THE GREAT COMMISSION OF SOUL WINNING: Jesus Christ is weeping for His Church that has forsaken the path of the great commission. The Lord told Peter to feed His sheep after He asked him thrice if he loved Him (John 21:15-17). This was very important to God because it was for that reason Jesus came to die (to save the souls of men). Apostle Peter was given the commission to first feed the sheep with the Word of life which was primary and everything that followed as miracles, signs and wonders, etc., were additions. I wonder the kind of commission the men of God in this generation have. Imagine Apostle Peter commissioned to feed the sheep, yet leaves the sheep and spends time searching for the latest designer suits, shoes, brands of cars, jets, etc. 1 John 2:15-16 KJV

IS YOUR SOUL NOT IN DANGER? Beloved of God, when last did you cry for the repentance of your sins? When last did your pastor preach about repentance and self-examination that led you into a deep self-evaluation and visitation to Calvary? Are you really sure your soul will enter Heaven when you exit this world? This is the message and it will forever be “Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand,” “be ye holy, for I am holy.” Any church whose message is not centred on this is only commissioned to destroy souls. Do you know the commission of the pastor leading you? Hmmm, think twice, pray, before it is too late. Jude 1:4 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, please have mercy upon me and open my eyes to know who my pastor really is, so that I do not find myself on the other side of eternity where you did not die for me to go, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19 KJV)
