TITLE: LIVING TO GLORIFY GOD

KEY TEXT: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2 KJV).

God is not so much concerned about how much one does for Him, but He is much concerned about why one is doing what he or she is doing for Him. God values the little one does to glorify Him, rather than the much done for self-exaltation. It is a pity that most things done by the believers today in the Church are for self-satisfaction and have nothing to do with glorifying God. Most people sing in the Church today to showcase their talents and sell themselves in the public eye. Most pastors preach or give charity for self-promotion, but have nothing to do with glorifying God. Jesus is lamenting being neglected by His children even though they are professing to be with Him. A majority of professing Christians today do not even know or care if Christ exists not to talk of living to glorify Him. How could one live to impress someone he or she does not care lives? Children only live to preserve the legacy of parents they value or care about. Most professing believers only value what they need at every given time. 2 Corinthians 5:15 KJV

ALL GOD DEMANDS FROM YOU IS HIS GLORY: Anything one does outside the glory of God is a waste and dangerous to the soul, and it does not matter if the whole world applauds him or her. God is not interested in activities that do not glorify Him. Most churches today hold programs that have nothing to do with glorifying God, but just to increase their church income and population. It is a waste of time and self-endangering to be working under the anger of God, doing things that have no eternal value in the name of God. Could you now see that most churches are inviting the wrath of God by bringing comedians to the pulpit? Colossians 3:23 KJV

STOP DOING THINGS IN GOD'S NAME WITHOUT HIS APPROVAL: Most believers are living a life they will forever regret. The fear of God is totally lost in many people's hearts, and some are doing good things without giving their lives to Christ. What good thing can one do when already condemned? It is written that anyone who does not believe in the Son of God is condemned already while he or she lives (John 3:18). Anything the unbelievers do is for self-promotion, hence, taking the place of God in their lives. But why would anyone who believes in Christ end up in condemnation with the unbelievers? Beloved in Christ, be conscious of your eternal life and make sure that all you do glorifies God henceforth. Remember, you must be born again to see the Kingdom of God. Romans 14:8 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, have mercy upon me, in any way my life has not been glorifying nor pleasing to you. Let all I do henceforth be approved by you and yield fruit to your glory, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ” (Galatians 1:10 KJV).
