TITLE: PERFECTION IS DEMANDED 

KEY TEXT: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48 KJV).

It is written in Colossians 3:14, “And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” I have been made to understand by the Word of God and through the help of the Holy Spirit that God is not just looking for those who will work for Him or walk with Him, but those who would work for Him and walk with Him in perfection. God is a perfect-working God; nothing is imperfect with Him. You can come to Him as an imperfect individual, but you must be ready to be like gold that must pass through fire to bring out the perfect nature in you. Your imperfection could be overlooked while working for God on earth, but be rest assured that you will be told “Depart, I don’t know you, worker of iniquity” by the same God you thought you were working for when you die. James 3:2 KJV 


FIGHT TILL THE PERFECT MAN IN YOU COMES OUT: Beloved in Christ, you have to know the truth before it is too late. It could be that your pastor does not mind you working in the Church in your chronic, sinful lifestyle. One could be a fornicator, an adulterer, a thief, fraudster, prostitute, drunkard, and be celebrated in the Church they attend without rebuking of sin. Well, what would one expect when the pastor himself is also swimming in the ocean of iniquity? The truth is that you could work for God in imperfection to your own detriment. The perfection in you is required for you to be approved by God and to be accepted in Heaven. Abraham needed to be perfect to walk with God. It's written: “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect." Genesis 17:1 KJV 

DO NOT REJOICE UNTIL YOU GET TO PERFECTION: Many believers have completely ruled out themselves from God's way by telling themselves that holiness is not possible. It is surprising that such people want to enter into Heaven, where no one can enter without holiness. Jesus Christ said: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”Perfection is not by human power, it is the work of the Holy Spirit,  and one must humbly ask the Holy Spirit to work on him or her and bring out the perfect nature of the new man in him or her. Beloved, let no one deceive you into hellfire; all things are possible including the perfection in man. Matthew 5:48 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, I surrender the imperfection in me to you. Let the Holy Spirit work on me and bring out the perfect me that can walk with you in perfect holiness and true righteousness for the eternal safety of my soul, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:4 KJV).
