TITLE: ENCOUNTER THE LOVE OF GOD
 
KEY TEXT: “And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself” (Luke 10:27 KJV).

Anyone who wants to successfully serve God and make it to Heaven must not only think of working for God, but also walking with Him. To walk with God means one will be very patient and steadfast to get to the point of saying, “I have fought a good fight of faith and won the race.” It is written: “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry (Hebrews 10:36-37 KJV). The primary reason most Christians easily give up on the race to Heaven is because they have not made Heaven their main goal in their minds, and the love of God has no root in them. It is written: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Romans 8:35-36 KJV 
 
ARE YOU IN COVENANT WITH THE LOVE OF GOD?: The only way a believer will not dropout of the race, is by making a covenant with the love of God. The more God’s love is in one’s heart, the more steadfast he or she will become. This can only be through having a personal encounter or relationship with God. Your salvation will not stand the test of time if you are a push-start Christian. A believer who always needs someone to push him or her before he or she does what is right for God will definitely fall out if a change is not made. Galatians 6:9 KJV 

REMEMBER WHAT JESUS CHRIST DID FOR YOU: Why would you want to be persuaded or begged before doing the things that gladden the heart of God? This is because you have not truly encountered the love of God. Jesus Christ was not forced to die for you, so why are you being forced to serve Him? Many things have been set in motion by the devil to discourage the children of God from following Jesus Christ, but we have the choice to think and remember how Jesus Christ refused to be discouraged when He came to die for us. Why not remember the glory that awaits you in Heaven and bear whatever you are going through now that certainly has an end? It is written: “Be strong and courageous, because your labour for Christ has a great reward”. 1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV 
 
PRAYER: O Lord God, have mercy on me, in any way I am weary of walking with you and working for you. Forgive me, and grant me the grace to overcome every force of discouragement in my journey to Heaven, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
 
REFLECTION: “Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded” (2 Chronicles 15:7 KJV).
