TITLE: DO YOU HAVE YOUR HOUR OF PRAYER?

KEY TEXT: “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour” (Acts 3:1 KJV).

Beloved, it is said according to today's key text that Peter and John went up to the temple, but to do what? To pray, but at what time? At the hour of prayer. The question to me, whom God is using to write this message and to you the reader, is do we observe the hour of prayer? Many so-called believers are running here and there, seeking for fake miracles and lying prophecies, because they lack a very personal prayer life to God. It is commonly said that a prayerful Christian is a powerful Christian. Today, believers expect to be powerful without having time to pray. Many rush in and jump out of prayer, expecting to be a terror to the forces of darkness. Being misled is imminent when one does not have time for prayer. David, the praying and praiseful king, prayed and said: “Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.” No wonder he was a king who had no rivals because he was prayerful. Psalm 5:8 KJV

FALL NOT INTO TEMPTATION: For one not to fall into temptation or the traps of the wicked, he or she must have flexible knees that are easily bent in prayers. It is written in Matthew 26:41a: “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.” Jesus Christ, the Lord of all, knew what prayer stands for during His earthly mission of man’s redemption. That was why He had to engage Himself in fasting and prayer for forty days and forty nights; hence, it is written: “And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about” (Luke 4:14). Jesus Christ conquered everything through prayer. He lived an exemplary life of prayer, hence, He oftentimes left His disciples and went to pray all night. The Lord is asking where most believers are because He can no longer see them in the place of prayer. Beloved, where there is no prayer, there is bound to be problems, defeat, confusion, division, impatience, envy, jealousy, etc. It is written: “Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV

THE TIME OF PRAYER: The reason the devil is fighting your prayer life is because he knows that the time of prayer is the time of reconciliation, purification, and victory over battles. The time of prayer is the time of deep revelation of knowing the secret of secrets. Prayer time is the time for divine settlement and for destroying and repairing. Prayer time is the time for sobriety and humbleness before God, and it lets God know one's hopelessness and helplessness without Him. Prayer time is the time for seeking divine direction, deliverance, recovery, confession, and forgiveness of sins, etc. Remember, God does not answer the prayer of an unrepentant sinner. Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour if you are not born again. Philippians 4:6 KJV

PRAYER: O, my God,  have mercy upon me, in any way I have sold or exchanged my time of prayer for the things that have no eternal value. Please wake me up today and take me back to my place of prayer before it is too late for me, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” (Jeremiah 33:3 KJV).
