TITLE: HOW SOLID IS YOUR SALVATION’S FOUNDATION?

KEY TEXT: “He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he” (Deuteronomy 32:4 KJV).

It does not matter how well a house is structured and designed, if it has a weak or faulty foundation, it will collapse. We have heard or read about calamities when buildings fell upon the occupants with no pre-warning, and some bridges collapsing and causing sudden death to many due to a weak foundation. Likewise, many believers’ lives are collapsing, and many have lost their salvation as a result of having a weak foundation. Many souls who thought they were Christians and belonged to God are in hell because they once confessed Jesus Christ as Savior, without a strong conviction of what they were saying. Luke 6:47-49 KJV 

NO ONE CAN GO BEYOND HIS OR HER FOUNDATION: One should not really blame the microwave and kindergarten Christians of this generation. Most congregations of believers are only acting in accordance with the foundations they built upon. Many believers’ foundations were laid on falsehood or the love of money. They were only taught what God will do for them if they became “born again". They were told that God would heal them, promote them in their workplaces, give them jobs if they were unemployed, or make them millionaires and billionaires without being told what God would demand from them. They were not told about spiritual things like living holy or being prayerful. Many souls got to hell before realising their faith was built on a faulty foundation. 1 Corinthians 3:11 KJV 
 
KNOWING THE BEDROCK OF A CHRISTIAN: Many are Christians not because they have their foundations laid on Jesus Christ through His Word, but because they were given a Christian name or go to church once in a while. Some are Christians because they grew up, seeing their parents go to church every Sunday, regardless of the idols in their families. Some are Christians because they once asked Jesus to come into their lives in a church program. My beloved in Christ, please re-visit the foundation of your salvation to see if it was built on a genuine love for Christ and hatred for your former ways of life. Make the necessary amendments before it is too late. 2 Corinthians 5:17; Deuteronomy 32:5 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord, help me recheck the foundation of my salvation. Please destroy my faulty foundation and lay the foundation of truth, love, and faith in Christ, so that I will not be a victim of last-minute disappointment and go to hell, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock” (Matthew 7:24 KJV).
