Title: Do Not Ruin Your Soul

Key Text: Proverbs 20:2 KJV - The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.

Everything God asks humanity to do is always for its own good. God is at the peak of His glory and does not need man's help to be what He is. Because He loves us so much, He gave us commandments to keep us from doing evil; but most people think that the commandments are a way for God to be a tyrant. We must understand that God is sovereign, the Almighty, and the Creator of everything. He has power over His creation, with or without the law or commandments. Remember, those who died in their sins before the law was given to Moses were a law unto themselves, and they were sent to hellfire. Romans 2:14 KJV 

Sinners Are Only Hurting Their Own Souls: It is painful to see some people consciously living in sin, thinking that they are doing it to hurt Jesus Christ. You could see some people having pleasure in marrying animals, marrying the same gender, fornication, idolatry, adultery, prostitution, etc., thinking that they are mocking God. The Word of God says: “But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.” Proverbs 8:36 KJV 

Your Soul Gets the Payment: Beloved, we can save our souls from the wages of sin, which is death. Our souls lament any time we sin. The soul knows that he or she is the one to give an account to God of what the flesh did on earth. The soul of a dead sinner is the one that suffers torment in hellfire. Save your soul now by avoiding all forms of sin. “But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.” Proverbs 6:32 KJV 

Prayer: O Lord, grant me the grace to run from sin, so that I do not send my soul to eternal damnation, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

Reflection: “He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die” (Proverbs 19:16 KJV).
