Topic: What Will Be Your Defense On Judgment Day
Key Text: Matthew 7:22-23 KJV - Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
 
From our key text, the Scripture tells us how some believers will stand to defend themselves on the day of judgment. Many will stand to tell the Lord how they sang, preached, evangelized, gave alms to the poor, went to church daily, did all the church work, performed many signs and wonders etc. But the Lord Jesus said He will tell them that He doesn't know them, because they are workers of iniquity. Who then are the workers of iniquity? They are those who go to church and do whatever they do for the Lord, but forgetting to work out their own salvation in the fear of God and in obedience to His word. They concentrate on their work for God, forgetting their walk with Him is very important. At the judgment seat, they are not recognized because their names are not found written in the Lamb's Book of Life. They failed to live a holy life that was demanded of them in 1 Peter 1:15-16, which would have made Christ to recognize them as His very own. Luke 10:20 KJV
 
No Appeal Before The Judgment Seat: It's only here on earth where people could seek for an appeal in courts, and in some cases, they are turned down. After death, no appeal can be made before the judgment throne of Christ. You have all the time now to seek for an appeal, by repenting from all your sins, running away from evil, and pleading for mercy now that you are still alive, because once you die, your chapter closes. Remember, there is no repentance in the grave. Your record of the life you lived while on earth will stand to pass a sentence on you in eternity when you die. You will either be told, ''Welcome my faithful servant'' or ''Depart to everlasting torment.'' The choice is yours to make. 2 Corinthians 5:10 KJV
 
Make Your Ways Right Before The Lord Now: Beloved brethren, as you are reading this message, many have been told to depart to an everlasting place of unbearable torment and they are crying, ''Had I known, I should have made my ways right!'' Do you want to get there and cry the same cry? Or do you want to hear, ''Depart from me you worker of iniquity'' before you know how serious it was to surrender completely to the Lord Jesus Christ? Please, run to Jesus now and be saved. Strive to serve God in Spirit and in truth; in holiness and righteousness; in obedience and perfection to His Word, not with flattering lips for an outward show only to gain the praises of men and be celebrated on to damnation. Luke 13:24 KJV
 
Prayer: O Lord, please have mercy on me and forgive me of my sins. Give me the grace to live my life worthy of hearing, “Welcome, my faithful servant” on the last day, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.
