Topic: Giving Love To Gain Mercy
Key Text: Jude 1:21 KJV - Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

The love of God and His mercy is all we need to live our lives and to make it into heaven at last. Almost everyone is longing for the love of God and the mercy of Jesus Christ, forgetting that love is reciprocal. Sometimes we expect those we hate so much to love us in return. Jesus Christ died for our sins to redeem us, while we were yet sinners. He expects us to love Him back to gain His mercy before His highly exalted throne of judgment. Romans 5:8 KJV

Keep Yourself In God's Love: As we expect God to shower His love upon us, remember God expects us to love Him back in return. The love God expects from us is not a half-hearted one, because God is not ready to share our love for Him with anyone or anything. He commands that "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength" which is the first commandment. Mark 12:30 KJV

Do You Really Love God As Demanded? God demands our 100 per cent love for Him. Sometimes we think we love God just because we go to church, sing, dance, pray, give tithe and offering. No, even the unbelievers do that better sometimes. We show our love for God by doing all we can to be as He is: stainless, spotless, without blemish nor wrinkle, and living everyday life in the fear of God through total obedience to His Word, not leaving prayer, offering and tithe undone. John 14:15 KJV

Prayer: O Lord, have mercy on me for asking for your mercy when I have not given you my total love as demanded. Please Lord, grant to me the grace to love you above all things, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

Reflection: By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 1 John 5:2 KJV
