TITLE: THE KEY TO AN EFFECTIVE PRAYER LIFE (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: ISAIAH 58:6 KJV, “Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?”

To have an effective prayer life, you must let God rule over you. When He rules over you, He also rules over your problems. God’s will is the best for you, but do you allow His will to be done in your life? There was a time when I thanked God for not answering certain prayers in my life, because I want His will to be done in my life, and I do not know what I really need. Even before Jesus was about to die, He wanted His Father’s will to be done, and now He is glorified. MATTHEW 6:10 KJV

Another thing to consider is not worrying about tomorrow. Always focus and pray about the present, as there are things that God has mapped out for you everyday. He already knows how your tomorrow will be. Do not bother Him about many things. MATTHEW 6:11 KJV

This is where the key really is. We are to forgive others whenever they offend us. Before God can forgive you, did you make sure that you have forgiven all your offenders? How can you ask for blessings or present all your problems to God when your heart is heavy with unforgiveness towards others? He cannot answer you in that state. MATTHEW 6:12 KJV
 
PRAYER: Lord, I repent of all my disobedience. I received the grace to obey you in all things and forgive my offenders, as you glorify yourself in my life, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us” (EZRA 8:23 KJV).
