Topic: Manifesting The Love Of Christ As A Christian
Key Text: John 15:13 KJV - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
 
Some people may take it to be an act of foolishness for someone without a house to build a house for a friend or brother, or buy a car for a friend or brother without buying one for himself or herself. No, it's not foolishness, but love. This is the love that Christ spoke about: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." However, it’s unfortunate that Christians don't have the mind of Christ, whom they profess to follow. The apostles of old were the express likeness of Christ; hence, Apostle Paul could say, "poor yet making many rich." The men and women of God these days are rich, but making their followers wretched and miserable. 2 Corinthians 6:10 KJV 
 
Jesus Christ Laid Down His Life To Save Us: Such a heart of love that goes beyond one's needs to satisfy others is the one that attracts the attention of Christ, because that is the perfect nature of Christ. I'm not talking about giving your bicycle to those who have jets, or giving your hard-earned salary with debts all around you to so-called men and women of God, who can take care of a local government for a year with their riches. Elijah did not have food in abundance when he asked the woman of Zarephath to use her last flour to bake him a cake. He was a man in need at that particular moment, and that was why God blessed the woman in return. 1 Kings 17:8-16 KJV 
 
We Should Learn To Give As Christ Gave: We must not have an abundance of things before we help those in need. One who cannot give when he or she has a little will definitely not give when blessed in abundance. The early church in the book of Acts of the Apostles sold what they had to take care of brethren who had nothing in the congregation, whereas the case is different today where a so-called man of God could have jets in the midst of suffering brethren. Beloved in Christ, don't be sad when God tells you to give your only cup of water to quench the thirst of another person, or when God tells you to give the last of your money to a brother or sister in need. God will surely glorify Himself in your life as He did to Jesus Christ in Philippians 2:5-11 KJV 
 
Prayer: O Lord my God, have mercy on me in any way I was thinking I needed to have in abundance before being a blessing. I receive the grace to give, as God gave His only begotten Son to us, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 
 
Reflection: Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. John 10:17-18 KJV
