TITLE: THE FINGER OF GOD (PART 4)

KEY TEXT: Luke 11:20 KJV: “But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.”

JESUS’ MINISTRY CONFIRMED: Jesus’ reference to casting out demons by the "finger of God" (Luke 11:20) served to confirm His divine mission, and the presence of God's kingdom. This act was a powerful testament to His divine authority, demonstrating that His ministry was directly empowered by God, and was a fulfillment of divine prophecy. ACTS 10:38

REVELATION OF GOD'S CHARACTER: The metaphor of God's finger also reveals His character. It shows His personal involvement in His creation, His justice in dealing with sin, and His mercy in giving the Law. Each act associated with the "finger of God" illustrates a facet of His divine nature—His omnipotence, justice, and love. ISAIAH 46:9

GOD'S INTIMATE CARE: The detailed involvement of God’s finger in both creation, and lawgiving symbolizes His intimate care for humanity. Just as a craftsman shapes his work with his hands, God’s personal touch in the world shows His desire for a relationship with His creation, and His attentiveness to human needs. PROVERBS 16:9

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, let your mighty power be made manifest in my life and family for people to see and know that I serve the mighty and sovereign God, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Psalms 115:3 KJV: “But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.”
