TITLE: THE FINGER OF GOD (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: Deuteronomy 9:10 KJV: “And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them [was written] according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.”

SYMBOL OF DIVINE DETAIL: The use of "finger" also implies detail and precision in God’s works. As noted in the creation account and the giving of the Law, it indicates that God's involvement is both intimate and meticulous, not just in grand acts but in specific instructions and designs. This precision reflects God's care and concern for the exact details of His creation and His laws. DEUTERONOMY 10:12-13

MANIFESTATION OF DIVINE AUTHORITY: The phrase "Finger of God" underscores the authority of God over all creation and human affairs. By attributing these actions directly to His finger, Scripture conveys the immediacy and direct involvement of God’s will and power. It reassures believers of God’s ultimate control over the universe and their lives. JOHN 16:13

GOD'S PRESENCE IN JUDGMENT: In the story of Belshazzar’s feast, the appearance of the writing on the wall (Daniel 5:5) signifies God’s presence in judgment. It was a divine act to remind the king of God's sovereignty and his accountability to divine standards. This dramatic event illustrates that no human power can escape the judgment of God. ISAIAH 30:21

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, have mercy on me, in any way I have resisted your command. Forgive me and grant me the heart of humility and obedience, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Psalms 32:8 KJV: “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”
