TITLE: PURITY IS DEMANDED

KEY TEXT: TITUS 2:12 KJV: "Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world."

As followers of Christ, we are called to walk in purity, both in heart and in action. In 1 Timothy 4:12, Apostle Paul encourages believers to be examples in purity, reminding us that our conduct should reflect the righteousness of God. Our pursuit of purity is not merely external, but it begins in the depths of our souls, as Psalm 51:10 implores us to create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Through prayer, meditation on God's Word, and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, we strive to keep ourselves untainted by the impurities of this world. 1 TIMOTHY 4:12

The path of purity is illuminated by the teachings of Jesus Christ, who declared in Matthew 5:8, "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." This promise reminds us of the intimate connection between purity and our communion with the Almighty. It is through maintaining a pure heart that we are able to experience the fullness of God's presence and discern His will for our lives. As James 4:8 urges us to draw near to God with a clean heart and hands, we recognize that purity is essential for cultivating a vibrant relationship with our Heavenly Father. ROMANS 13:14

In a world that often glorifies impurity and indulgence, we stand firm in our commitment to live holy and blameless lives before God. 1 Peter 1:15-16 exhorts believers to be holy in all manner of conduct, echoing the timeless command of Leviticus 20:7: "Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God." Our pursuit of purity is not fueled by legalism or self-righteousness, but by a deep reverence for God and a desire to honor Him in every aspect of our lives. As we strive for purity, let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, knowing that in Him, we find the strength and grace to walk in righteousness.1 THESSALONIANS 4:3

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, empower me to give myself up for the life of purity as I strive daily to please you and to enter your kingdom at last, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Romans 13:14 KJV: “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”
