TITLE: BEING AN EXAMPLE AS A TRUE CHRISTIAN

KEY TEXT: Matthew 5:14 KJV: “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”

As Christians, we are called to be shining examples of Christ's love and teachings in our daily lives. In Matthew 5:16, Jesus instructs us to let our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works, and glorify our Father in Heaven. This verse reminds us that our actions should reflect the love and goodness of God, drawing others closer to Him through our words and deeds. Whether it's through acts of kindness, forgiveness, or humility, we have the opportunity to demonstrate Christ's transformative power to those around us. JOHN 13:15

Moreover, apostle Paul urges believers in Philippians 2:14-15 to, “Do all things without murmurings and disputings. That they may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.” Here, Paul emphasizes the importance of living lives marked by integrity and unity, even in the midst of a morally corrupt society. By exemplifying Christ-like character traits such as patience, compassion, and selflessness, we become beacons of light in a world that desperately needs hope and redemption. PHILIPPIANS 4:9

In 1 Timothy 4:12, Paul encourages young believers, saying, "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." Regardless of age or circumstance, we are called to set an example for others to follow in every aspect of our lives. Through our speech, conduct, love for others, faithfulness, and moral purity, we can inspire those around us to pursue a deeper relationship with God and strive for righteousness in their own lives. By living out the teachings of the word of God, we fulfill our duty to represent Christ faithfully and bring glory to His name. MATTHEW 5:13

PRAYER: Lord God, as the world is becoming more morally unhealthy and many believers falling prey to Satan's deception, grant me the grace to stand out in holiness, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: 1 Peter 2:12 KJV: “Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.”
