TITLE: ALLOW CHANGE TO BEGIN WITH YOU

KEY TEXT: Romans 2:21-23 KJV: “21Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? 22Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? 23Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?”

Many Christians preach, counsel and pray to see others change when they themselves have not changed. How can society experience a change when the Christians who are to bring about changes have become rebellious to God's Word? Effective change starts from an individual who wishes to bring about changes before spreading to other people. Many Christian spouses pray for their husbands or wives to repent, but they themselves have not repented from their nagging, malice and insulting attitudes. Have you allowed God to work on you and change your life completely since He called you from amongst many, that through you He could reach the others? Don't you still get angry when the Word of God comes to reprove and correct you? Ezekiel 22:30 KJV

The power of effective change takes place when one completely surrenders to God's authority. God wants to change you, so that through you, He can bring salvation to your home, marriage, family and even nations. He wants to glorify His name in that situation in your life and draw men to Himself through your testimony, but are you ready to let Him take the preeminent lead? God cannot do His work in your life if He cannot gain total control over you. Surrender to God, and He will remould and furnish your life and you shall never remain the same again. Hebrews 4:12

It's high time Christians started living exemplary lives and showing good examples to the people around them. The Word of God calls Christians "the Light of the world" (Matthew 5:14-16). And because they're the light, their character, behaviour, deeds, and lifestyle should portray Christ and His qualities. In fact, the light in them should shine brightly to every one, not only in their families but in the society and the world at large. Please repent and invite Christ in your life if you're not born again. John 3:3

PRAYER: O Lord, I completely surrender to your authority. Please mould me and use me to your glory. Grant me the grace to shine forth your light in all that I do, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Matthew 5:16 KJV: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
