TITLE: OUR CHOICES DETERMINE OUR DESTINIES (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”

We need to be careful of the choices we make everyday. When you make life resolutions, are they backed by the Holy Spirit or are they based on your fleshly desires? Do the choices you make everyday separate you from the sinful pleasures that you are already used to? Are they resolutions to separate you from illegal businesses that often fetch you a fat profit or from the company of the ungodly? Do they make you embrace the truth of God’s Word and instructions, and do they help you make the choice to surrender, hand over everything to God, and stop living a life of hypocrisy and craftiness? Revelation 3:15 KJV

WHAT IS THAT CHOICE YOU HAVE MADE? There is a wide gate and a narrow gate. Which one have you decided to pass through? It is easy to find the wide gate, but the narrow way requires wisdom and accuracy to find it. To choose the narrow way means that you have decided to come out of anything that goes against God’s Word and grieves the Holy Spirit. Making the right choice that is in line with the principles of God will save our souls from hell. Matthew 7:13-14 KJV

A CALL TO SELF-EXAMINATION: Evaluate the life that you lived in the past and ask God to help you make the right choices if the life you lived before was not according to God’s holiness and righteousness. If you have chosen God’s way already, make a decision not to turn back. Luke 9:62 KJV

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, I have made a decision to choose life. I do not want to end up in hell. Please give me the grace to continually choose Your will for my life, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil” (Deuteronomy 30:15 KJV).
