TITLE: THE RIGHTEOUS CAN ALSO FALL

KEY TEXT: 1 Corinthians 10:12 KJV, “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.”

The Bible talks about how certain people who served God genuinely (and those who were even anointed from their mothers’ wombs) fell prey to sin or seducers. The saints can also be seduced or enticed to sin if they are not careful and watchful. You could be seduced if you allow the works of the flesh to crawl into your heart and start manifesting. Falling comes when one overlooks the little foxes: neglected anger, malice, or evil thoughts could generate into big sin that could damn the soul of a saint. Revelation 2:20 KJV

THERE IS NO RESPECT OF PERSONS WITH GOD: A righteous man could also commit sin and land in hell if he dies without repenting. He can also fall and become worse than sinners if care is not taken. The Lord is telling us to be watchful and not to trust in our righteousness. Watch out! Because a day may come when you will be tempted to do things you have never done or say words you have never said as a God-fearing believer. A chronic armed robber could repent and walk into Heaven, and a native doctor who has killed and done so much evil could turn from his evil ways and plead for mercy. The hands of Christ are open for everyone, no matter the atrocities he or she has done. God forgives whoever that confesses and pleads for mercy. The blood of Jesus Christ is always available to clean anyone who genuinely asks for mercy. Ezekiel 33:12 KJV

DO NOT END UP AS A WORKER OF INIQUITY: Some people who are so full of themselves and are not watchful usually depart from the faith unknowingly. Many have forgotten that anyone standing is bound to fall if care is not taken. Only those who are standing are careful not to fall, but anyone who is asleep and on the ground is not concerned about falling anymore. Are you standing in the faith? Be careful and watchful not to fall. Many saints have fallen from the faith unknowingly. The world has seduced them. They have also successfully silenced their own conscience. We must allow our conscience to be our teacher through the Holy Spirit; let it be our Bible, director, and let the Word of God be written in our hearts if we must enter the kingdom of God and not end up as workers of iniquity. 1 Timothy 4:1 KJV

PRAYER: Father, have mercy on me, in any way I am taking my salvation for granted. Help me walk with you and work for you in true holiness and righteousness with fear and trembling, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21 KJV).
