TITLE: OVERCOMING THE FORCES OF REJECTION

KEY TEXT: 2 Timothy 3:10-11 KJV, “But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.”

Apostle Paul reminded Timothy of the things he went through for the gospel's sake in Iconium, Antioch, and other places. He also reminded him how he endured, because he was called and commissioned for it. He told him how he made sure those things did not move him, even when they mocked, scourged, and did other terrible things to him (apostle Paul). In all, he kept on moving. Those things that were done to him were the forces of rejection. They persecuted him so he would deny Christ and mocked him so he would mock the cross, but in all, he stood firm. Apostle Paul is telling today's believers that the same things could happen to those who are ready to live a holy life in this adulterous generation. Psalm 34:19 KJV

MANY ARE REGRETTING THEIR DECISION TO FOLLOW CHRIST: Many believers today are lamenting because they are no more in the company or groups that celebrated their iniquity. They have been deserted by friends and loved ones because of holiness, and they now lament because nobody wants to see or care about them anymore. But they have forgotten that blessed are they who are rejected for the sake of Christ (Matthew 5:11). Beloved, are you among the rejected? Rejoice and remember that you are blessed to be cast away from them and having to suffer for the sake of Christ. Rejoice, because Jesus Christ is rejoicing over you, and your soul is rejoicing, too. Luke 6:22-23 KJV

LEARN FROM OUR LORD, JESUS CHRIST: Jesus Christ was rejected in His country among His own people, and if Christ was rejected, know that you will also be rejected. Remember, they only chased you away so that the Lord will bring you in, have you to Himself, and welcome you into His Kingdom. Stop murmuring, and regret no more because of the things the world offers to the lost. God Almighty will supply all your needs and Heaven will be sure for you, too, if you do not give up. Matthew 13:54 KJV

PRAYER: My Father, my God, please grant me more of your grace to overcome all the trials in this world and to meet you at the end of my journey, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
