TITLE: JESUS CHRIST IS THE STANDARD

TUE 27 SEPT 2022

KEY TEXT: “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep” (John 10:10-11 KJV).

Jesus Christ, the good shepherd, sacrificed Himself on the cross of Calvary in order to give man a satisfying life that will guarantee eternity in Heaven. He is the only door through which those who hear His voice and come in will find good pastures and be saved. Today, the purpose for which He died has been forsaken by those in pursuit of earthly riches. The message of grace without salvation is what is being preached on the pulpits of today's churches. However, the voice of the Shepherd is still being heard, calling out loud to the sheep to repent and come back to Him. John 10:9 KJV

MANY HAVE GONE THEIR OWN WAY: Despite the fact that Jesus is calling and sounding an alarm of warning for all to return to righteousness, many are not taking heed. His voice is getting louder and louder, yet many are still adamant to answer the call. Sin is rapidly on the rise and the fear of God is fading away from the Church. The love of money and the world's standard of doing things is fast replacing God's holy standard of righteousness and holiness. 2 Timothy 3:2-5 KJV

DO NOT BE DECEIVED: Beloved, let no one deceive you. The ways of God will never change. The standard of life laid down by Christ, which was followed by the apostles of old, applies to all of humanity without any exception. God is a righteous God who will judge the world in righteousness, without any partiality based on His word. He will not judge following the standard of your church’s doctrine, neither will He judge following the world's standard. Take heed now, repent, and amend your ways before it is too late. Remember, without holiness, no man shall see the Lord. 1 Peter 1:14-16 KJV
 
PRAYER: O Lord, have mercy on me for forsaking the old path of righteousness by pursuing the world's standard of life. I repent today. Please give me the grace to walk in accordance with your will till the end, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6 KJV).
