TITLE: NO CROSS, NO CROWN 

KEY TEXT: “And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it” (Matthew‬ ‭10:38-39‬ ‭KJV).‬‬

The hard truth that the end-time Church does not want to accept is the old path that comes with the cross of Christ. It is a path of total self-denial where self-will cannot take its course, and only the true worshippers of Christ are allowed to reign, whether in suffering, pain, hardship, persecution, tribulation, trial, rejection, and even death for the sake of Christ. It is a life of total sacrifice to embrace the will of God. Only those who understand the concept of the cross, even though in discomfort, will joyfully carry it to the end to receive their due reward. Hebrews 11:35-37 KJV

SELF-DENIAL IS A MUST: The first step for anyone who wants to serve God and enter His Kingdom is self-denial. It means in all odds, they are ready to submit to the will of God, even if it means dying for Christ. Sadly, this is what the Church of today hates to hear. Many want to serve God the way they want, not the way God wants. No one enters the Kingdom of God holding on to self-will. No one can serve two masters at the same time. One cannot be in control, serving himself or herself and God at the same time. God must increase while we must decrease. It is written, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.”  2 Corinthians 11:23-28 KJV

YOU MUST DESERVE THE CROWN TO EARN IT: When God encountered His early disciples, He told them to follow Him. They immediately denied themselves of their old lives and followed Christ. They even went as far as to sacrifice their own lives for the gospel of Christ. What have you denied for Christ? How can you be a child of God, but your skills of gossiping, lying, prostitution, fornication, adultery, etc., are still intact? Can Jesus be proud to say that you are a complete replica of Him? How do you expect to receive a crown or enter Heaven when you did not work for it? Heaven is for those who deserve it, have Christ as their Lord and all, and are His true representatives here on earth in all their ways. 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, please grant all your children the understanding of the cross and the grace to carry it and follow you till the end, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭6:3-4‬ ‭KJV).‬‬
