TITLE: HOW MUCH DO YOU VALUE JESUS CHRIST?

KEY TEXT: “And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver” (Matthew 26:15 KJV).

Life is all about personal interest and value. Anything one does is all about the interest, friendship, and relationship one has towards anyone or something. Marriage is all about interest. It is one’s interest and value in a particular thing that determines the amount of energy one would deploy into it. One’s interest in the things of God and the value one has for God will determine how far one could go in the journey of eternity with God. The free gift of salvation is valued differently by different people. A man cannot value someone more than what he or she thinks of him or her. Christians value Jesus Christ differently. Some only take Jesus Christ as their Provider, so they only value Him according to what they think He can provide for them at that particular time. They could easily switch to any other source of provision when they think Jesus Christ cannot provide or delays in providing for their needs at a particular time. Psalm 34:10 KJV 

Are you better than Judas Iscariot?: Oftentimes, you see believers speaking ill of Judas Iscariot. Many get angry whenever they read or hear what he did to Jesus Christ. They imagine if Jesus Christ was not worth anything more than thirty pieces of silver before the eyes of Judas Iscariot. It means if four liters of oil was thirty pieces of silver, then that was Jesus Christ's worth to him. A bottle of perfume was more valuable to Judas Iscariot than Jesus Christ (Mark 14:5, Matthew 26:15). The three years of working and walking together, the miracles he saw, the Word of Life he heard, and the eternal life Jesus promised him in John 15:1-3 never meant anything to Judas Iscariot. All that mattered to him was what thirty pieces of silver could afford him at that particular time. Titus 2:7 KJV 

What have you sold your love for Christ for?: Beloved in Christ, are you in any way better than Judas Iscariot? Have you not abandoned your work for Christ because of what you needed? There are lots of people like Judas Iscariot in today's Churches, and millions have gone to hell to meet their brother, Judas Iscariot. Did you know that anything that turns your heart from following Jesus Christ is your price tag of selling Him? Many have sold their love for Jesus Christ because of political or other positions. Some have betrayed Him for money, marriage, friendship, false miracles, demonic prophecies, while others have betrayed Him for visa, food, clothing, etc. Child of God, examine yourself closely and point out that thing you have or betrayed Jesus Christ for and quickly retrace your steps now. You will not believe what awaits you in eternity if you die in your state of betrayal. Repent now and give Jesus Christ the first place in your life from now on. Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior if you are not born again. Luke 9:23 KJV 

PRAYER: Father, have mercy and forgive me, in any way I have traded you for anything. I sincerely repent, as you grant me the grace to give you the first place in my life from now on, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 10:33 KJV).
