TITLE: STOP JOKING WITH THE GREATEST ENEMY OF YOUR SOUL

KEY TEXT: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23 KJV).

Man’s greatest enemy that leads to the bondage of eternal destruction in hellfire is SIN. This three-letter word looks very little and is often very much celebrated and enjoyed, but its devastating consequence is eternal damnation in hellfire. The Bible has categorically warned against anyone who dies in sin (the wages of sin is death). Is it not funny that a lot of people are afraid of death, but are not afraid of sin? The highest penalty that the court of law could give to a crime committed is a death sentence, which many are so afraid of because they do not want to die. But God Almighty has given a death sentence with an eternal and devastating consequence in hellfire to anyone who dies in sin, yet humanity is still very disobedient and enjoy living in sin. Psalm 9:17 KJV

DO NOT BE A CASUALTY: Sin has no respect for anyone. The tiniest sin will drop its victim in the ocean of everlasting torment in the fires of hell. It is so unfortunate that a lot of people are running away from death, but not from sin that leads to everlasting death and eternal agony. They smile and joke with sin, leaving loads of unconfessed sins intact following them everywhere they go. Many who were running away from death while living in sin, met with the same death they were running away from and died with sins stockpiled in their lives, only to end up in the place of eternal suffering and regret. 1 John 1:9; Isaiah 5:14 KJV

SAVE YOUR SOUL NOW: Sin is like a shadow that goes with one wherever one goes. Unless confessed and forsaken, sin would never leave its victims alone, but would go a long way to prepare a place of torment in hell for its victims. Everyone living in sin is living in perpetual darkness. It would remove one’s name from the Book of Life and write it in the book of the condemned. The end result of such a soul is destruction in hell. Why not repent genuinely from your sins today, accept Jesus Christ into your life if you are not born again, and seek for the grace to run away from sin for the safety of your soul? Revelation 21:27 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, please deliver me and all your children from the power of sin and its eternal consequences, and grant us the grace to hate sin with a perfect hatred and to run away from every appearance of it, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:1-2 KJV).
