TITLE: LIVE TO AVOID ETERNAL DAMNATION

KEY TEXT: “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41 KJV).

No one goes to hellfire for the evil deeds of another person, neither can anyone enter into the Kingdom of God for the holy life lived by another person. It is written, “For every man shall bear his own burden” (Galatians 6:5). No one has ever died and gone to God carrying another person's file to give account of. The life lived by an individual is the determining factor of  one's eternal end (Heaven or Hellfire). Why should believers settle for the physical things of this world, which have no eternal value? There is eternity awaiting everyone, with individual accounts to give. It is written: "If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable" (1 Corinthians 15:19 KJV). Imagine how shameful it would be for those who used all their precious time to only work for what this world could offer, all in the name of being born again. Hebrews 13:5 KJV

NO BONDAGE IS TO BE COMPARED TO HELLFIRE: Those held bound by the wicked forces are often referred to as being in bondage because their lives could be miserable if there is no divine intervention by God. Do you know that the worst bondage in this world is enjoyment, compared to eternal damnation in hellfire? Unbelievably, so many Christians who once celebrated their freedom from bondage while they were on earth, died, and found themselves in eternal destruction in hellfire, because they focused on their physical healing, freedom from poverty, having a joyful family than their eternal destination, hence, were idolizing themselves, being careless with their salvation. It is written, “Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play." 1 Corinthians 10:7 KJV

DO YOU KNOW WHY JESUS DIED FOR YOU? It is heart-breaking to know that so many believers are not aware of the reason God Almighty allowed His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to pay such a costly and painful price to bring humanity out of the bondage of darkness and into His marvellous light (Colossians 1:12-13). There is absolutely no reason for being saved if you are not ready to go to Heaven. We could relate this to the children of Israel, having no business getting out of Egypt, when they were not fully ready to get into Canaan land, hence, were destroyed by the destroyer in the wilderness. Beloved in Christ, you must re-evaluate your lifestyle and make the necessary adjustments to the standard of God’s demanded-lifestyle for entering His Kingdom (1 Peter 1:15-16, Romans 6:23 KJV).

PRAYER: O Lord God, have mercy on and forgive me for not being mindful of the life I was living as a believer. I repent of idolizing myself and the situation around me. Grant me the grace to live a life worthy of eternal life, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth” (Luke 12:15 KJV).
