TITLE: THE QUESTIONABLE CALLING

KEY TEXT: "After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances" (Leviticus 18:3 KJV).

Anyone who professes to be called by God or has the call of God upon him or her without the corresponding fear of God, which reflects the holiness of His glory, should reevaluate his or her calling. Anyone genuinely called by God must have the fear of God in him or her. Anyone's call outside of holiness is questionable. God has never left His children in the dark. He does not deliver or call anyone without giving him or her instructions or directives on how to live to have an effective and productive walk with Him. God would never jump into a union or a walk with just anyone. Abraham was a perfect example. "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly." Genesis 17:1-2 KJV 

IS YOUR PROFESSED WALK WITH GOD QUESTIONABLE? There is doubt if anyone says that he or she has a calling to do anything for God or work for Him without specific and direct instructions from God. If an ordinary human company could give laid-down principles on how the company should run and how the staff should conduct themselves, God, the Creator of all things, should know and do better, except one is on his or her own, doing what he or she likes in the ministry, or whatsoever he or she professes to be doing for God at his or her own detriment. Did you hear directly from God that He called you as He did to Jeremiah, Apostle Paul, and everyone else in the Bible, or did you just wake up one day and jump into the work of God because of your zeal? Please go back and pray for a specific instruction from Him who called you, if actually you were called. Isaiah 30:21 KJV 

ARE YOU IN A COVENANT WITH GOD? God is always jealous of whoever is in a covenant with Him, and such a person must be ready to be holy and different from others. Any call outside holiness is not a call from God. God would never do anything outside His nature. Jesus Christ told His followers to be perfect (Matthew 5:48). God told Abraham to be perfect, and again, Jesus Christ told us to be holy as He is (1 Peter 1:15-16 KJV). Now, the question is, who called those pastors outside holiness? Run from them and be genuinely born again, or else you will end up in the bosom of the one that called them in iniquity and is working in iniquity, but it would be too late for you to retrace your steps to God. Please embrace God in holiness. Philippians 3:19 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, please have mercy on the people who entered into ministry for the sake of earthly gain without a call from you. Open their eyes to know the danger of what they are doing to themselves, and show them their damnable end if they do not repent of their evil ways. Lord, please have mercy on me, too, in any way I am working on my own, thinking I am working for you. Open my ears to hear you, so I can walk with you, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me" (Matthew 16:24 KJV).
